Aruba Keeps Calling for a reason. This beautiful island has become one of our favorite places to relax, reset, and recharge. Raun and I keep finding our way back to Aruba because it feels easy, welcoming, and familiar in the best way. They don’t call it One Happy Island for nothing.

The weather is usually sunny, and the trade winds help keep things comfortable. Since Aruba sits outside the hurricane belt, it is a place you can visit almost any time of year. The beaches are beautiful, the people are kind, and the food scene has something for everyone. And if you love seafood like we do, Aruba will make you very happy.

From quiet beach days to great restaurants and safe walks near the resorts and main streets, Aruba has a way of making you slow down and savor the moment. For us, it truly is our happy place.

There are plenty of Aruba hotels, resorts, and Airbnb options to choose from, but we have come to love staying at the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa and Casino on Palm Beach Aruba. It has become part of our Aruba routine in the best way.

From the moment you walk into the open-air lobby, you feel that island breeze. The greenery, peaceful water features, and well-kept grounds make the resort feel relaxing right away. It has direct access to Palm Beach, which makes beach days easy, and the location is close to restaurants and shops.

One thing we really appreciate is that the resort has space for different kinds of travelers. There is a family pool with a water slide, and there is also an adults-only pool for a quieter place to relax. We like having the option to enjoy the beach one day and the pool the next.

What really keeps us coming back, though, is the service. The staff is kind, helpful, and easy to talk to, and that makes such a difference when you are away from home. Aruba already feels like our happy place, but staying here makes it even easier for us to relax, reset, and enjoy the island at our own pace.

One of the things I wanted to do on our last Aruba trip was take a downtown Aruba walking tour, but I got sick and had to miss it. This year, we were finally able to go, and I am so glad we did.

The tour was about three hours, and our guide was passionate, funny, and knowledgeable. His love for the island came through as he shared the history of Aruba, its people, and its architecture. We stopped at about 30 different sites, and each stop gave us a better understanding of the island beyond the beaches and resorts.

This part of our Aruba trip reminded us why we keep coming back. Yes, the beaches are beautiful, and the weather is usually easy to count on, but Aruba is more than that. It is the feeling of slowing down, being welcomed, and finding little moments that stay with you.

For us, Aruba is a place to rest, explore a little, enjoy good food, and reconnect with what matters. Whether we are sitting by the water, walking through downtown, or simply enjoying the breeze at the resort, Aruba keeps finding a way to call us back.

The Aruba wind is real, and it is pretty constant. Bring hair ties, scrunchies, scarves, or headbands so you can embrace the island breeze with ease. A hat clip is also a good idea because the trade winds will absolutely try to take your sunhat. I learned that one from experience.

You may also want to think twice about short, flowy skirts; bring maxi dresses, linen shorts, or easy pieces that feel comfortable in the wind. Aruba is beautiful, but the breeze definitely has its own plans.
