 Vilamoura’s marina is the heart of the town. It’s packed with restaurants, bars and boutique shops, all set against a backdrop of luxury yachts. Whether you’re enjoying fresh seafood, sipping wine, or just strolling along the water, the vibe is relaxed and inviting.

Vilamoura is a golfer’s paradise, with some top championship courses offering incredible views and top-notch fairways. Raun was eyeing them the whole trip but didn’t get the chance to play—so I guess that means we have to come back!

• Victoria Golf Course – Designed by Arnold Palmer, this championship course is home to the Portugal Masters. It’s challenging, but the wide fairways and scenic water features make it a must-play.
• Old Course – One of the oldest and most beloved courses in Portugal, this tree-lined beauty offers a classic golfing experience with rolling greens and a peaceful atmosphere.
• Pinhal Golf Course – Set among umbrella pines and offering stunning coastal views, this course has a mix of open fairways and tighter, more technical holes—perfect for players of all levels.
• Laguna Golf Course – With plenty of water hazards and open landscapes, Laguna has a more modern, links-style feel. It’s a fun course that keeps you on your toes!
• Millennium Golf Course – A blend of open fairways and wooded terrain, Millennium offers a more relaxed play with stunning scenery, making it a great course for golfers of all skill levels.

No trip here is complete without spending time at Vilamoura’s two beaches—Praia de Vilamoura and Praia da Falésia. Whether you want to bask in the sun, take a refreshing dip in the Atlantic, or enjoy a peaceful walk along the shore, these beaches provide the perfect escape from everyday stress.

While summer is fun, it’s also very crowded. The best time to go is fall, winter, or spring when the weather is still warm, but the crowds are smaller. It’s the perfect time to enjoy Vilamoura at a slower pace.

One of the many perks of staying in Vilamoura is its central location. Just 10 minutes from Albufeira, 20 minutes from Lagos and 45 minutes from Tavira, it’s easy to take a day trip to explore the Algarve’s breathtaking cliffs, hidden coves, historic towns and amazing food.
